A Great Intro to San Francisco Convention Center: An Event Venue for Conventions

The San Francisco Convention Center is officially called the Moscone Center. It is the largest in the city and has 3 halls. Two of these halls are underground below the Yerba Gardens while the third hall is a three level structure across Fourth Street.

Built in the early 80s this convention hall is used frequently for the famous Macworld, American Bar Association, Developers conferences and many more. The underground halls are named Moscone North and South respectively while the 3 level hall is called Moscone West respectively.

This is a state of the art facility that has the best audio visual equipment, catering, phone, internet and networking & wifi. This convention center is visited by over 110,000 attendees each year. Some of the events in the month of October are Paypal X conference, Virtual Goods Summit, and the Osteopathic Medical conference.

In case you are attending an event at the Moscone center then there are a few hotels that are preferred and close to the center. These are the Intercontinental Hotel, Holiday Inn, and Hotel Whitcomb. These hotels are at a walking distance from the convention center and have all the amenities in order for you to have a great stay. Located in San Francisco's downtown this center is accessible by public transit. You can opt for Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART), MUNI or the Cal Train to get to the Moscone Center if you are at a distance from it. This convention center also actively pursues an environmental friendly policy with a very large solar installation done in order to obtain energy from renewable resources.
