
Asian Art Museum
The Asian Art Museum is your window to Asia. You don't need to fly halfway around the world just to experience Asia as now you can just travel to san francisco at 200 Larkin Street and travel through the years of rich history and sample the cultures of the Asian countries.
The museum has several exhibitions, galleries and collections of the major regions of Asia from 6,000 years ago up to the present. They have collections from China, Korea, Japan, the South and South East Asia as well other contemporary arts. You'll find some rare collections here as well from its 17,000 objects. Their collection galleries can be found both on the 2nd and the 3rd floors.
They also have a thematic gallery which is found on the 2nd floor just between the Japanese and their Korean collections. The gallery is based on their selected them that is related to the culture or the art that they want to depict. The themes that were used were The Elephants on Parade, the Art of the book and many more.
Do check out the Asian Art Museum for their exhibits. They have different exhibitions here and the current exhibition up to May 10 of this year is called as the Dragon's Gift, The Sacred Arts of Bhutan. They had previous exhibitions as well and some ongoing exhibitions.
They accept group visits as well as school tours and personal visits. Do bring your kids along if you wish to visit here so they too could experience what it's like in Asia. Their lifestyle and heritage is different from the Westerns and you'll learn to appreciate the diversity of the humans.
At the Asian Art Museum, you'll not only come and experience what it's like in Asia but you'll learn something new as well. You'll have a decent time here and you don't need to spend that much just to experience the lifestyle of the East where the sun rises.
