Bill Graham Civic Auditorium

The Bill Graham Civic Auditorium is a type of auditorium that is known as an indoor arena and it is located in the SF Civic Center which is just north of the intersection between Van Ness Avenue and Market Street. The SF Civic Center is a venue for some of San Francisco's largest cultural institutions as well as government buildings.

Here you will find the City Hall, the Asian Art Museum, the Supreme Court of California, the Public Library, the Herbst Theatre, Fox Plaza and many more!

The Bill Graham Civic Auditorium had been after the promoter with the same name but it was first known as the SF Civic Auditorium. It was constructed and finished in 1915 and its capacity is 7,000. The auditorium had been the venue for several events including the Democratic National Convention back in 1920.

The Auditorium is a must-see San Francisco California travel attraction in the San Francisco Civic Center. It's where you will find special events taking place and this auditorium is versatile and it's well recognized for that. It's not only a music hall, it's also a sports arena, and it can be anything that you want for a gathering venue.

The auditorium is not only used for concerts but it's also a venue for meetings, banquets, trade shows, and many sporting events such as basketball. Of course it's a great venue for concerts and many artists had their concerts staged in the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium because it has a huge capacity of 7,000 people.

By the 31st of March, 2009 though the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium would be closed but only temporarily. There is no news yet as to when it will be opened again but it's better to contact the management as to when it will be opened again and what are the changes that people should expect from its reopening.
