Chinatown
There is no Chinatown anywhere in the world (outside of Asia) that is larger than the Chinatown San Francisco. It's also the oldest of its kind in North America. When you go here you'd think you're actually just in China! It feels like a gazillion of Chinese people and other Asians live here and you'd feel like you're the outsider.
Now San Francisco's Chinese community had already spread. You can find Chinese businesses thriving in the Bay Area as well as in the Sunset District as well as at Richmond's. With this, Chinatown San Francisco could feel the business is slowly gaining speed.
Its economy is definitely booming especially in the recent years. Why not? The Chinese community is hard working and they are very good in handling their business and yes! The foods are delicious!
The Chinatown is the most popular of all tourist attractions of travel San Francisco, leaving Golden Gate Bridge behind. Lots of tourists come here to enjoy their delicious yet very affordable meals. They are genuine Chinese foods; try their siopao or their siomais and noodles!
Chinatown San Francisco used to be the port of entry for the Zhongshanese and Taishanese back in the 19th century. The land was given by the government for Chinese to allow them to inherit as well as live in it. Chinese had been accepted to the society and were allowed to get jobs but after the 1873 panic, they were alienated and were not allowed to get jobs until the 2nd world war.
Now Chinatown San Francisco benefits not only the Chinese community but the Americans as well. They became a part of San Francisco that can't be taken out or else San Francisco will not be whole again. It thrives and it survived and will continue to survive.
