Coit Tower
On top of the Telegraph Hill you'll find the Coit Tower. It was Lillie Hitchcock Coit's donation back in 1933 to make San Francisco travel city a little bit more beautiful. She even gave a third of her estate to the city for the purpose of adding more beauty to San Francisco because she loved San Francisco so much; it's the city that she always loved.
The tower is 64 meters tall and made of reinforced concrete. It does not have any paintings on the outside whatsoever and it was designed by Arthur Brown Jr as well as Henry Howard. There are several murals on the tower and 2 of them are from scenes with the San Francisco Bay.
At the tower you'll get to see the beauty of San Francisco. It's popular because of its view and many people come here every year. Aside from the view, the murals are also a delight to watch. You can view these murals for free at their mural rotunda.
When you are on top of the Coit Tower, you can see the Golden Gate Bridge together with some famous locations as well. You can see Pier 39, the Alcatraz, the Treasure Island, the Russian Hill, the Angel Island, the Nobb Hill and even the Aquatic Park.
Telegraph Hill is actually a hill district in San Francisco. Aside from the tower which is its best feature, you can enjoy listening to the wild parrots such as the red-masked parakeets. These parrots are free to fly around the hill and San Francisco CA travel tourists love taking pictures of them.
Going to the Coit Tower can be tricky especially during its peak season. With lots of tourists wanting to see what the tower is all about, the single road can get really trafficked. It's advised to just take a public transportation there so you won't contribute to the heavy traffic.
