The Embarcadero
The Embarcadero San Francisco is a bay-side street at the port. It is located just along of the San Francisco Bay. The Embarcadero begins at King Streets and it flows north through the Oakland Bay Bridge then through the Ferry Building on Fisherman's Wharf, Market Street and Pier 39 and ends on Pier 45.
You will find Cupid's Span, a 60-feet tall sculpture with his bow and his arrows at the lawn of the Rincon Park which is just alongside of the Embarcadero. It's a great San Francisco travel attraction to know where you are as it's 60-feet tall and you'll see it clearly from afar.
There is an Embarcadero Station which is located at Market Street which is just a black away from Embarcadero San Francisco. The Station was not originally part of the plan for the area's construction but because of the business of the area, it was put up. And its addition had made its distinctive design simply because it wasn't planned to be put up in the first place.
There is also the Embarcadero Center. It is located close to Embarcadero, in the financial district of San Francisco. It is made up of 6 commercial complex towers where 2 are Hyatt Hotels and 4 are for offices. It also has 1 office tower. On top of the center you will find a viewing deck. It was added back in 2001 for people to enjoy the view from the center. Also, on winter months, the buildings are illuminated.
Before the bridges had been built here back in the 1930s, it was the ferryboats that dominate here bringing over 50,000 passengers every day. It was then such a busy port and it's now a thing of the past that can still be reminisced in Embarcadero San Francisco. Though there are fancy establishments here now, you can still enjoy its bayside beauty.
Have fun out there!
