It is a natural attraction, which is the highest summit of San Francisco that is more than 100 meters above the sea level. Its locations make it easier for you to view the City from wherever you are, as it has a clear view of the beautiful City and other features. The peak of Nob hill is located to the northwest almost at the intersection of Jones and Sacramento Streets. It has a shopping district of Union Square on its south, North Beach and Telegraph hill on its northeast.

Apart from being a tourist attraction site, Nob hill is a home to many of the City's upper class families along with young urban professional population. The Cable Cars Museum makes the Nob hill very popular. The museum is part of it and it houses the cable car power house, which drives the cables and the car depot. A visit to the depot is not allowed but you can view all you want via the two galleries that are next to the power house.
