Chinatown San Francisco came into existence in 1840's and it is the oldest Chinatowns in North America and one of the principle Chinese communities in outer Asia. The Chinatown in San Francisco is the oldest of all Chinatowns in the United States. It's also the biggest Chinese population outside of China. When you come over to Chinatown, San Francisco CA you'd really feel like you're in China.

The population here has dwindled over the last 20 years because other Chinese communities are growing in Richmond as well as in the Sunset District in San Francisco as well as the re-emergence of Oakland Chinatown. Despite this, San Francisco's Chinatown continues to be a major attraction for tourists as you get everything you need from Chinese products and goods as well as entertainment here.

The latest population for San Francisco's Chinatown is 14,230. The population is mixed with the whites, blacks, Hispanics and Asian and Pacific Islanders. The most dominant is of course the Asian and Pacific Islanders with a population of 8,846.
