Welcome to San Francisco's gigantic and the largest exhibition center - the Moscone Convention Center housing three sprawling halls, two of which have been constructed underground. Put up in the year of 1981, at the bustling South Market area of downtown San Francisco, the Center was built in honor of the slain mayor George Moscone. It has been claimed to be constructed out of the ruins of a fierce battle fought by the low-income group of people against the San Francisco Redevelopment Agency which was bent on seizing the area around 1970s to 80s.
