Moscone Convention Center San Francisco

The Moscone Convention Center is the largest complex in San Francisco, California, which hosts conferences and exhibitions. Its first structure was built in 1981, as one single hall and was named as Moscone South, in the memory of former mayor George Moscone, who was assassinated in 1978. Now it consists of three main halls, two underground, which lies underneath the Yerba Buena Gardens, and known as Moscone North and South respectively. A third hall known as Moscone West which is an exhibition hall has been built across the 4th Street.

The pioneer architects behind this great building are Hellmuth, Obata & Kassabaum. The total floor area of the building's exhibit space is about 900,000 square feet, making it the biggest convention and exhibition centers in San Francisco.

The center is famous for hosting various professional get-togethers, such as the, American Bar Association's annual meeting, Macworld Expo, the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference, the Game Developers Conference, JavaOne and a number of public events such as the 1984 Democratic National Convention.
