Ocean Beach, Baker Beach, Fort Funston or Burton Beach, and Lands End which is part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area are all dog-friendly regardless of the size of your pet.

Ocean Beach is part of the Golden Gate National Recreational Area and spans 4 miles. Except for the span between Stairwell #21 and Sloat Blvd, your pet can roam off leash.

Baker Beach is a favorite if only because you can see the Golden Gate Bridge from here as you exercise your pet. Off leash areas begin north of Lobos Creek.

Fort Funston allows well-behaved pets to be off leash.
