How does San Francisco's Main Public Library cater to people speaking different languages
San Francisco's Main Public Library doesn't have it easy considering the number of languages spoken by various immigrant communities. However, it does its best to cater to the main minority communities such as the Chinese, the African Americans, the Filipinos and the Latino/Hispanics.
Each of these communities can make use of the Centers that are housed in the Main Public Library. Each of these centers have books pertaining to their history, exhibitions and even events.
Efforts are also made for children coming from various backgrounds and speaking languages such as Cantonese and Spanish. The Dial-A-Story service can be enjoyed in all three languages - English, Spanish and Cantonese.
