The MUNI system in San Francisco will be going undergoing some changes to cope with the current economic downturn. The date when these changes will take place is 5th December, 2009.

Some of the changes that are going to take place are:

- Certain routes will be discontinued.

- Certain routes will be extended and changes will be made.

- The frequency of trains and hours of operation will be modified.

- Express zones will be changed.

- Most routes will be renumbered.
