What are some recent traffic and rush hour figures of San Francisco
All the surveys conducted since the turn of the century and compared with those of decades gone by show that the average amount of commuting time has increased in San Francisco, especially for those who commuted in privately owned vehicles (POVs).
It now takes a lot longer to get a destination than before. One study found that commuting time increased by 54% during rush hours (when compared to the time spent traveling the same route during lighter hours of traffic).
The study also found that San Francisco's rush hour commuters spend an extra 72 hours commuting each year while those traveling during non-peak hours spent an extra 37 hours.
