Is it necessary for San Francisco to have a Minimum Wage Ordinance
The cost of housing in San Francisco as well as other services and expenses is making it increasingly hard for people to make an adequate living and raise a family in the city. Not having a minimum wage rate in place would affect everyone but especially the low-income workers who would soon find it difficult to keep up with rising costs and fall below the poverty line.
This will not only create a great disparity between the poor and the better-off classes but will also increase San Francisco's poverty rate which already is the highest among the other Bay Area counties.
