Which is San Francisco's largest taxi company/fleet
The Yellow Cab Cooperative wins hands down. Formed in 1976 when the former Yellow Cab Company went bankrupt and was bought over by a group of investors, cab drivers, dispatchers and mechanics, this company now has a fleet that's green and numbers more than the cabs of the next four taxi service providers put together.
The fleet consists of the Ford Escape Hybrid Electric, the Ford Crown Victoria, the natural gas Ford Crown Victoria, and the Ford Windstar Van which has the distinction of being wheelchair accessible.
This cooperative is also known to support many worthy causes including bringing home the Don't Drink and Drive message in San Francisco's Bay Area.
