San Francisco Airport is located 14 miles south of the city and handles flights both international and domestic. The airport serves the cosmopolitan San Francisco travel city, the wider Bay Area and the Silicon Valley and is one of the busiest U.S. airports. The international flights of this airport connect Europe, Latin America and the Pacific Rim.

Various services and amenities are present in the San Francisco Airport which includes shops, spa treatments, choice of diners, banking services, access of wireless internet, disabled facilities and a business center. Also present in the airport is an aquarium, reflection room, aviation library with museum, arts commission and a children's area.

There are four terminals in the San Francisco Airport- Terminal 1, 2, 3 and the International terminal. The terminals 1, 2 and 3 are the domestic ones which lie in a partial ring having the domestic parking garage in the middle. The ring is completed with the International Terminal which has the parking garage in the front, outside the ring.

All the terminals of the Airport are connected together by the internal transit system known as the AirTrain which operates 24 hours. Passengers can also walk between the terminals if they want. Each of the terminals is served by various airlines and many destinations. Shops, newsstands, restaurants, bars and ATMs also serve each of these terminals. Airline Club lounges are present to cater the needs of the passengers flying frequently.

The International Terminal of the San Francisco Airport is served by many airlines including, Air France, Aeroflot, Air China, Air New Zealand, Asiana British Airways, All Nippon Airways, Alaska Airlines(Mexico), EVA Air, Cathay Pacific, Japan Airlines, Lufthansa, LACSA, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, North West Philippine Airlines, Korean Air, Singapore Airlines, TACA, Virgin Atlantic and United Airlines.

The airlines operating in the Domestic Terminal are, Air Tran, Allegiant Air, Delta Airlines, Continental Airlines, Frontier Airlines, Horizon Air, Hawaiian Airlines, Northwest, Southwest, Midwest, U.S. Airways and Sun County.
