Project Manager IV

Project Manager IV is responsible for the planning, directing and organizing of highly complex engineering and architectural projects under administrative direction. This position functions at SFO's management level. Specifically speaking, Project Manager IV manages an extensive range of fields including program-level budgets, the implementation of program changes, formulation and program planning, internal capital improvement program, general administration and operational matters.

Minimum qualifications of this position include possessions of a bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture or construction management, 8 years related working experience, valid California registration as a Professional Engineer or Architect plus a valid driver's license. Internship Information

As for now, the San Francisco Airport Commission is offering Student Engineering/Architectural/Planner Trainee Program for college students, SFO YouthWorks for high school students and Management Intern Program for graduate students. Surely it must be a rewarding experience to work in such a world-class airport.

Student Engineering/Architectural/Planner Trainee Program is designed for college undergraduate with at least one year's study of an accredited Engineering/Architectural/Planning program. Positions may be available in the following areas: Project Management, Electrical Engineering, Geographic Information System, Architecture, Mechanical Engineering Planning, Computer Science/Information Services, Environmental/Sanitary Engineering and etc.

Volunteer Information

SFO's volunteer program can be dated back to 1955. Volunteers for the Travelers Aid booths, the USO and SFO Museum are needed as always.

Volunteering for Travelers Aid Booths

Now there are over 200 volunteers working at the 6 information booths on the Departure/Ticketing Level. They're supposed to help any passenger in any kind of need. You might need to assist them in finding lost children or locating any airport facilities. Training for a few weeks is necessary for rookies. A minimum of one four-hour shift per week is required for volunteers serving at Travelers Aid booths. Volunteering for the USO at SFO

USO (United Services Organization) offers "home away from home" accommodation services to U.S. military personnel. USO is open twenty-four hours a day and seven days a week. Volunteers at USO are supposed to give warm welcome and homelike services to the military personnel. Volunteering for the SFO Museum

Volunteer opportunities at the Louis A. Turpen Aviation Museum and San Francisco Airport Commission Aviation Library of SFO Museum are open to public. SFO Museum is a great window for us to know the history of aviation. The day-to-day operation of SFO Museum is indispensable from the hard work of volunteers. Operation hours of the aviation museum and library are from 10:00a.m. to 4:30p.m., Sunday through Friday.
