Twin Peaks

It is one of God's wonderful creations. The Twin Peaks San Francisco are twin hills with a height of over 900 feet each and they are situated in the middle of San Francisco. After the highest point of elevation in San Francisco, which is Mount Davidson, the Twin Peaks come in second.

It's a lovely sight from anywhere in San Francisco. It's not everywhere you will find two hills that are equally as tall and stand side by side with each other. The twin hills have east slopes that are usually foggy and experience turbulent winds while the opposite, the west slopes, are more sunny and warm and you will find the most beautiful flowers here during spring and summer.

San Francisco locals thank the two peaks for providing them with their water supply. At its north lie reservoirs where they get their water from. Local fire stations own these reservoirs and they get their water from these reservoirs as well.

When you go up the Twin Peaks San Francisco, you'll find the Christmas Tree Point where San Francisco CA travel tourists and locals come regularly so they could enjoy the almost perfect view of the entire San Francisco and its San Francisco Bay. Make sure to bring along your binoculars.

The Twin Peaks' summit is not well developed and that is because they are part of the Twin Peaks Natural Area. These areas are preserved for the wildlife to thrive. You will find beautiful birds here as well as some wild animals. Also, Twin Peaks San Francisco is a part of the conservation called Mission Blue Butterfly Habitat.

That means, here at Twin Peaks you will find these endangered species thriving and it's just one of the few habitats for these species. Aside from these beautiful and endangered butterflies, you'll find insects and several bird species here as well. They thrive because of the efforts set by the San Francisco Recreation & Parks Department.
