Union Square

A 2.6-acre plaza in the heart of San Francisco is called the Union Square. Here you can shop 'til you drop, literally, because it's the 3rd largest shopping area in the United States! Shops, hotels, restaurants, you name it, it's here! But do you know that the Union Square, San Francisco was not intended to be the shopping capital that it is today? It's named the 'Union Square' because it's the place where pro-union rallies were taking place during the Civil War.

Union Square is a large area, so don't expect to be familiar of the place in just a few visits. Better get yourself equipped with a map just so you won't waste precious time just looking for the place you need to go. If you don't really have a target destination, just enjoy strolling along the busy streets of the Union Square, San Francisco. Window shopping here can take the whole day and it's the favorite by many shopaholics!

The Union Square is definitely the heart of San Francisco travel city. Without it, San Francisco just seems to be so barren and dead! You'll find luxury, style and convenience here and many famous celebrities are known to shop here too. Can you spot them?

As classy as this place is, you would still find that there are some homeless people walking by and asking for some money. This problem started in the 70's up to the 90's when they started camping out here. Now, a few still remains but they should not be staying in these streets. Give to organizations who are helping the poor but don't directly give money to them as they will continue asking for spare money here.
